What is PaddleMate?

The PaddleMate is a performance measurement system specifically developed for paddle sports to objectively measure, track and improve the sport performance. Tested and developed together with youth athletes and coaches. The system contains a paddle-mounted sensor (POD) + boat-mounted data collecting unit (Tracker) + dashboard application. The POD measures the paddling-force, stroke-rate, the spatial position of the paddle and the symmetry. The tracker measures the velocity, the position and the tilt angle. The application summarizes and visualizes the synchronized data, where you can track the performance.

POD and BASE:

The paddle sensor is built out of the BASE and the POD. The BASE is glued to the shaft. This stores paddle characteristics. For each paddle you will need a new BASE but you can keep using the same POD. The system is designed to be portable from paddle to paddle, so if you have multiple paddles, you just grab it, snap it into the BASE on it. The POD sensor measures the paddling force, stroke rate, symmetry and power.

Dock:

When you are not using the POD on the paddle, the DOCK is used to carry and charge it. It can be used with any mains charger and a USB-C cable.

Tracker:

It also consists of two parts. The bottom should be glued to the boat and the TRACKER itself should be placed in it so that it will be firmly attached. Measures boat speed, position, heel and oscillation. Combined with the POD, it provides more complex data collecting. A Bluetooth-enabled chest strap or heart rate monitor can also be connected to the TRACKER. We are developing a feature of ‘Live data transition to the coach’, which allows immediate intervention.

Quick and easy installation:

1. Glue it up: Look at the center line of the blade (where it is the widest) and glue the BASE perpendicular between the grip and the blade with the glue in the package
2. Wait 5 minutes: For the BASE to set perfectly, the glue must dry for at least 5 minutes
3. Calibrate it: Lay the paddle on the table, start the calibration in the app and follow the instructions. You will also need a weight!
4. Pull with! You’re done, head for the water! Pull and ride!
