Product and service

  • How long does the installation take?

    Installation takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on your paddle. It is then recommended to wait 1 hour for the glue to dry. Finally, there is the calibration process, which takes around 5 minutes and is a two-man job.

  • Why should I use the special superglue inside the box?

    The added adhesive ensures that the system can measure the blade’s bending and perform the calculations.

  • What weight should i use during the calibration process?

    Depending on the diameter of the paddle 10kg or 15kg is recommended (same in lb is written out) Kayaks, canoe, sup, dragonboat paddle 10kg, rowing scull 10kg, rowing 15kg.

  • How waterproof is the product?

    When connected, the BASE and POD are protected against water and foreign body ingress to IP66. POD must not be used alone under water when switched on because it will lead to corrosion of the connector.

  • How many moths/years is the warranty valid?

    The product comes with a two-year guarantee.

  • What kinds of maintenance are required?

    General cleaning is recommended after each workout, depending on where the product is used. If used in salt water, it is recommended to wash the product with running or tap water at the end of the workout and dry it with a towel.   • How do you transport the PaddleMate system?

    It is not recommended that you disconnect the BASE from the shaft as this may damage the product casing or electronics. If you do decide to disassemble the BASE, please refer to the User Guide for disassembly steps. You can move the POD to another BASE freely, so if you have several paddles/oars equipped with a BASE, you have the flexibility to use them with the same POD.

  • Can I replace the POD to another paddle or row?

    You can move the POD to another BASE freely so that if you have several paddles/oars equipped with a BASE, you have the flexibility to use them with the same POD. The BASE stores the blade specific parameters.

  • Can more than one athlete use the same POD if they share it?

    Our regulations currently allow a POD to be used by a maximum of two paddles, for individual assessment and cooperation – association level – please contact us.

  • On which devices and operations systems can I use the application?

    The supported devices are Android 12 or newer and iOS 15 or newer. The device requires a Bluetooth connection and a minimum BLE version 4.0.

  • What languages is the application available on?

    Currently, the app is available in English and Hungarian, we will expand the languages in the future.

  • What metrics does it measure?

    The magnitude of pulling force, detailed pulling force curve, speed, pace, stroke rate, pull length, heart rate, zones.

  • Can I connect my heart rate monitor into the system?

    Yes, you can connect any heart rate strap that can also be connected to the phone (i.e. Bluetooth compatible).

  • How fast does it measure? What is the sample rate?

    The system takes 100 force samples per second to ensure accurate measurement.

  • How do I re-charge my POD?

    Place the POD in the DOCK charger. For details, see the User Guide included in the set or access the digital copy here.

  • How long does it take to re-charge?

    It takes up to 1 hour to charge the product to 100%.

  • How long does its battery charge last?

    You can record 5-6 hours of training with a fully charged product depending on the environmental conditions.

  • Where can I test the product in person?

    During the competition season, we are present at several European and World Championships where you have the opportunity to test the product. Contact us by email and we will be happy to arrange a time and location for you.

  • Who do you recommend to use it? Amateurs or youth athletes can benefit from using it?

    We provide valuable data for amateur, youth and professional athletes alike.

Troubleshooting

  • The Phone can’t find the PODs, what should I do?

    Check that POD is turned on and that your phone’s Bluetooth is also turned on. If the POD is already actively connected to another device, it must be disconnected from that device before you can select it. Please get in touch with us via email or WhatsApp is such a problem occurs and you can’t resolve it.

  • The Phone does not record the path.
  • The System does not record the pulling force.

    Check that your phone is within Bluetooth range of the POD and that the POD LED is blinking blue. This indicates an active data connection during data acquisition. Check the contacts between the POD and the BASE, cleaning them if necessary according to the User Guide included in the set or access the digital copy here.

  • The pulling force is inaccurate.

    Check the connectors between the POD and the BASE, clean if necessary according to the User Guide. Re-calibrate the paddle if there is a large deviation from the previously recorded data.

  • The pulling force curves are doesn’t seem right.

    Check the connectors between the POD and the BASE, clean if necessary according to the User Guide.

  • The POD blinks red when attached into the BASE.

    Check the connectors between the POD and the BASE, clean if necessary according to the User Guide. Re-calibrate the paddle if there is a large deviation from the previously recorded data.

    If the product is not physically damaged, it is covered by a two-year warranty.

  • As a kayaker or sculling athlete do I need to buy two boxes of POD?

    Yes, kayak and scull athletes need two products (1 per side).

    Find resellers in your country under the Distributors tab on our website. You can meet them in person or at competitions by appointment.
